Status of Services

Sled Ride Status: Open for sled rides almost everyday by reservation only.

Trail conditions: Early winter conditions. Light snow coverage with occasional obstacles.

Cart Ride Status: Closed. We are running sleds.

Kennel Tour Status: Open by special arrangement in the afternoon after the rides are finished for the day.

General Duties

Below is a list of things that you may be asked to do during your job as a musher. You may never do some of these if you work for us for five years, and some you will do every day.

  • Feed and water dogs.
  • Make dog food.
  • Pick up lots of dog crap.
  • Inspect the overall health of each dog.
  • Trim dog nails and pad fur.
  • Lots of harnessing and un-harnessing
  • Drive up to five guest sleds during the day, six days per week.
  • Shovel lots of snow to build ten miles of trail.
  • Shovel lots of snow off guest walking trails.
  • Use a snowmobile to maintain the trail.
  • Maintain the snowmobile.
  • Transport large quantities of poop.
  • Paint and maintain the dog boxes.
  • Maintain the sled and other equipment.
  • Cut and stack firewood.
  • Move large amounts of wood chips.
  • Bury expired dogs.
  • Maintain shed, including painting.
  • Educate guests about the history of the Fraser Valley.
  • Educate guests about sleddogs and the history of dogsledding.
  • Educate guests about trees and wildlife tracks.
  • Make sure guests have a great time.
  • Clean up trail and trailhead.
